The map is real if the premise is real. The premise is not the whole New Testament. Scripture will not let this book keep only the failure. If it kept only the failure it would write a second gospel of suspicion over the first gospel of witness.
Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.
Acts 2:36
The same Peter who is led where he does not choose also stands in the street and says God has made this Jesus both Lord and Christ. The same generation that ran also dies refusing Caesar’s claim. They did not believe Him at the grave. They believed Him later with a belief that cost them the own — the house, the trade, the name, the skin. Restoration did not unwrite the night. It did not have to. The night was the record. The street was the other record. Both stand.
He said if these were silent the stones would cry out. He also said God can raise children to Abraham from stones. That is praise, and unexpected offspring. It is not a license to crown the laboratory as the Church. Science can be a stone that speaks when pulpits go quiet. It is not the apostle. A prophet is measured by the word he is given, not by the gravity he calculates. A great mind under providence is still a mind. It does not make preachers false as a class, and it does not make one quiet calculator the remnant.

The edge of this book is a truncated gospel: Jesus without present dominion. The edge breaks if it turns every later preacher into a Pharisee of delay, or one speaking stone into the remnant. That would only be another postponement — this time postponing the flock He told Peter to feed. The charge after the denial was not Write a theory of collapse. The charge was Feed My sheep.
And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.
Matthew 28:18–19
He said all authority in heaven and on earth is given to Me. Not later. Already. The therefore of the nations hangs on that already. If the authority is future, the going is theatre. If the authority is present, the going is simply obedience in a world whose King has been named. They will not preach that Gospel. It costs them the lease. It costs them the right to treat earth as a waiting room. It costs them the old unbelief, which has always preferred a Christ who will be true later. The first generation prepared a corpse. This one prepares a delay. Both are ways of handling Him at a distance.
The record is not a mood, and the remedy is not a mood. The remedy is the tense He used. I am the resurrection. All authority has been given. The last hour is already. Faith that answers with the last day while He is standing in the yard is the faith of the sisters, and He wept over it. Faith that answers with a coming while He already holds heaven and earth is the faith of this generation, and the nations are not discipled by it.
If they had believed the rising they would have been willing to die with Him in order to rise with Him. That remains the measure. Not a feeling about God. Not a correct future. A present Lord, already in authority, already too much, already owed the ground we keep offering to other names.
Read the record. Do not gild it. Do not postpone it. Do not postpone the flock. The stone has moved. The grave was a fact and then it was not. He said all authority in heaven and on earth is given to Me. Not later. Already. Preach that, or admit you will not.
